Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. (Ephesians 4:29 NASB)
Fatherhood does not give answers… I understand that it need some sinking in as I wrote yesterday about fatherhood and questions. It was an out load thinking as I struggle always with the demand of ready-made answers and the danger of giving the wrong ones! In a society of words and and short answers, the intense hunger of people is about connecting communicating without a direct (colored) answer. The digging deep in a spirit that reflects the “in God’s image” design is so necessary to discover the beauty of your awesome identity.
A spoken word at the right time, does mean speak when the need of speaking is bigger than the beauty of silence!
Watching those 5 woman, brought to a cemetery where speaking is forbidden, in a program called “Seek God”, you see the hard thing of silence. Brought back to a moment without distraction, without demanding moments, their spirit struggles with this silence as they are so surrounded by a busy, noisy life. The beauty is that their life, their past, their undiscovered spirit start (finally) to speak which is a scary thing! Fleeing in a noisy world is mostly the only answer but… it is growing strange from the beauty if your inner man.
Demanding for answers even by going to church or appointing leadership in your life does the same thing! Parenthood therefor is such a great thing when it is lived through the “rules” of the Design. It conceives, is carries, gives birth and with cutting the umbilical cord it starts to let go and steward by serving the identity of a newborn. Parenthood does not own, is not a position, but it is the most beautiful function in child’s life.
As a parent you life the answer and you edify the inner calling of the life entrusted to you.
…a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment.
What a great advise as it not just produce silence but also encourage to speak… the right word, the right moment. The need of the moment, revealed by the most trustable accompanying person we can ever trust: The Spirit of Wisdom!
