But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham, my friend; you whom I took from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest corners, saying to you, “You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you off”; fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Behold, all who are incensed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; those who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish. You shall seek those who contend with you, but you shall not find them; those who war against you shall be as nothing at all. For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel! I am the one who helps you, declares the Lord; your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel. Behold, I make of you a threshing sledge, new, sharp, and having teeth; you shall thresh the mountains and crush them, and you shall make the hills like chaff; you shall winnow them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the tempest shall scatter them. And you shall rejoice in the Lord; in the Holy One of Israel you shall glory. When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst, I the Lord will answer them; I the God of Israel will not forsake them. I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. I will put in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia, the myrtle, and the olive. I will set in the desert the cypress, the plane and the pine together, that they may see and know, may consider and understand together, that the hand of the Lord has done this, the Holy One of Israel has created it. (Isaiah 41:8-20 ESV)
The Word, so strong, so challenging, so to-the-point, when it is spoken from the Heart to your heart!
You can read the Word anytime and it will be a blessing, but when the Father speaks directly to you, the Word becomes precious and everything of your inner being reacts, is vitalized, renewed!
I was thinking of this picture when the father is speaking to the family, everyone is listening and hear the same words as they encourage the whole family, but when he take you, his child, apart, looks in your eye and speaks directly to you…
This is mainly why I want to share it, to encourage you to react on the moment The Father calls you through what ever situation and talks to you directly through the Word.
Somebody forwarded a mail to me that spoke right to my heart and gave so much insight in how the body of Christ works and how we need to be aware of the importance of our “function”! It connects to the Words above, the chosen, the appointed, the small (worm) but important part of God’s encouragement.
Let me quote some of the significant words of her mail:
So good to just be one in this deep, yearning thirst, – to stand in this covenant connection, receiving and sharing the impulses in the nervesystem. I woke up early couple of days ago with the word “disconnection” in my spirit. I really believe that it is more vital than ever, to stay connected. Several years ago, I asked the lord: What part of the body am I? He said: Nerve-system. The impulses -starting in the brain- runs with a speed of a milli-second from the head to the toe, alerting the part of the body to act, to move, bloddpressure to rise, pulse-rate to escalate etc. If there is disconnection in the nerve-system, the result can be disasterous delay or grave danger to the rest of the body. Paralysing, at worst. Mal 3:16-21
I was touched by her words, by the way the Lord made clear who she was in His eyes. Not just a christian, not just saved!
Being chosen, being aware of the handpicked part of God’s end-time movement, understanding your vital role, being connected not just for the sake of connections, but for the strength of God’s body, the church, the instrument of restoration.
In that way it is so vital to be redeemed of the self focused way we live our life. Knowing our identity, our part of the body of Christ.
God is doing a mighty work, speaking directly to the hearts, making known the “chosen” part of being His child.
Then those who feared the Lord spoke with one another. The Lord paid attention and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who feared the Lord and esteemed his name. “They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in the day when I make up my treasured possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him. Then once more you shall see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him. (Malachi 3:16-18 ESV)
