My writings on Climate and Culture mainly are meant to be a help of first recognising in order to be able to deal with it on a biblical way.

When the Climate in your “house” has turned into a Culture it will be sustained by strong, invisible Strongholds, which are mindsets that we allowed to develop over time (years).

Atmosphere: the pervading tone or mood of a place, situation, or creative work
Climate: the prevailing trend of public opinion or of another aspect of life
Culture: the ideas, customs, and social behaviour of a particular people or society

It all starts with a certain atmosphere

The atmosphere over a nation is a response to spiritual influences whether good or bad. Once the atmosphere is affected over a period of time it affects the climate. If that climate is prolonged, then it becomes a pattern of thinking and possible stronghold. The climate becomes a culture, a behavior, or a way of living through silence agreement. Our Heavenly Father has called us to break those cultures, climates, and atmospheres that we have created over our nation, our Cities and even our family-life, by seeking first His Kingdom (Matt. 6:33), letting every breath sing praises to Him (Psalms 150:6) as we count it all joy in the midst of our trials and tribulations (James 1:2). This may seem too simple and silly, but it is the pattern Apostle Paul used to break the chains while in prison (Acts. 16), and it is today the pattern used in other countries that are predominately of other religions. When you visit for instance Istanbul, Turkey you would hear prayers sung over the city several times a day.

And it only takes one person to change the atmosphere which will change the climate and the culture.

If you want to be able to work on a shifting of the culture, firstly it need recognition and acceptance of the fact that a shift, a change is needed. I remember this moment where boldly 7 words were defined by a brave couple in our church and even when we took it to a church-weekend as the main theme, over the months and even years that followed at the end the problem was that everybody had his own idea of implanting the words. Mainly what you can say is that there was no real Kingdom need of change/shift and where the words were birthed through a honest and godly desire, without the urging hunger for change, nothing happened as all went back to normal. In the same time, this is the fact in families, cities and companies.

God will use the trials and conditions of our life to reveal and introduce Himself for the purpose of our life and the circumstance of it. And through that process He brings us to the edges of our self-created or inherited “culture” were the desire rises for a real and fundamental change.

So than again, imagine the strength of a True Covenant Relationship that stands together, agreeing in the need of their own change and through that influencing the surrounding environment.

It all starts with recognising to prevent it from a fruitless act! Therefor, let us honestly pray for God to reveal all that stands in the way of the culture of the Kingdom of God!
