Review your Relationships

I really felt the Lord saying yesterday morning to review our relationships as we “grow” into new dimensions of spiritual insight!

Through the individual processes over the past few years, many people we met had the identity of leaving the system, not being recognized, or just longing for a bigger insight and spiritual awareness!
Gathering around the recognition of where we come from, very soon, this search for identity could have become the new identity of the “group”!

David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. When his brothers and his father’s household heard about it, they went down to him there. All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he became their commander. About four hundred men were with him. From there David went to Mizpah in Moab and said to the king of Moab, “Would you let my father and mother come and stay with you until I learn what God will do for me?” So he left them with the king of Moab, and they stayed with him as long as David was in the stronghold. But the prophet Gad said to David, “Do not stay in the stronghold. Go into the land of Judah.” So David left and went to the forest of Hereth. (‭1 Samuel‬ ‭22‬:‭1-5‬ NIV)

This story of David, gathering with the distressed, broke, discontented, even becoming their commander is an amazing insight from the Lord! Four hundred men is quite a gathering, not counting the families they represent. Many pastors today would sign up (or maybe signed) for a church like that… That’s where we miss the point and build the church! And over time, we reap the failure!

But then, amidst of the safety, the kindred spirits, the “understanding where you go through, because we feel the same” experience, the Voice comes with this painful, “hopefully I heard it wrong” word: “Leave the stronghold!” That’s where the ever returning GO is released by the voice of the prophet.

I sat in my little office and the word landed, unexpected and… the covered pain of the disappointment through misunderstanding the reason of relationships came up, intense en painful. The many, many people we met over the years, as we always “give away” our hearts. There is no holding back in “the meeting” for us. I specifically thought about names and expectations that came with it and the many times we had to let go, without understanding!

So than yesterday, the Word came in and gently the Spirit walked with me through the names, the places, the nations and together we reviewed all those beautiful relations! In this reviewing, through His caring presence, He helped me to recognise and let go, releasing and receiving again! So beautiful to, after all those years, see the relationships in the bigger Kingdom dimension!

The experience of all those moments became a value which was needed to become the person Father needed for this moment. In a way, through releasing, I thanked every one for their friendships and realised that in a way, they join us here in the beautiful work God is doing in Sweden.

Today, as many leave the cave again, not letting it become the stronghold of wrong identities, we depart from the “lonesome rider” identity as I challenge you to do the same. The experience that brought us to the caves were only meant to be a temporary place of gathering to be send out, back to the land of Judah again! Back to place of community, of fellowship of trusting and relating.

To be honest, it was a wonderful experience… Reviewing the Relationships and bringing it into a Kingdom Dimension!

    Dearest Rob!
What a marvellous insight the Holy Spirit provided to you, in presicely the right season; His timing never fails, as long as we seek the Fathers heart diligentliy. I actually read with a smile on my face, because your words – as well as tne Scipture – resounded in / and was confirmed so strongly in my heart. The Lord has “sown” you into all these relations (to be sown is to die). From what you write I understand that these relationships sparked an expectation of a network that would hold together and strenghten around your vision. A “logic” and natural thing hoped for! And then these painful leaving – or disappearing experiences, or just the silence.
One of the most powerful answers, or pictures I have ever got from the Lord is the word “Lace-making”. This is may be 6 years ago and I was (rather despondant and frustraded, after 8 years of praying up in Stadsparken (gula villan) 2-5 people every friday morning 6:30-7:30). We had been praying, weeping, shouting, warring, prophesying over this city, and “nothing” happened. My question to the Lord was simply: What are you actually doing in Jönköping!? – “Lace-making!” I had to Google on it, and I was amased! The most painstaking slow, tedious work, – resulting in the most explicit, beautiful lace-works. Hope you can find pictures of the process, where the beauty of the patterns depends on moving that thing (distaff?) in a very specific order.
So, when we ask the Lord: Lord, that person, that connection, where is it? Isn’t it about time you activates it? – and he answers: Yes! but first this and then that one, (but those two you don’t know of, because you never met them), but I am fitting them in. You do not have my perspective, trust me! I’m making a wedding-dress. And then, one bright day He removes the curtain a little bit and I realize that He answered my (and yours and every yearning heart’s) prayers far beyond what we could ever think or imagine. No wonder He takes his time..
From the place of Psalm 131, Sigrid
