Indeed, a king will reign righteously, and rulers will rule justly. Each will be like a shelter from the wind, a refuge from the rain, like streams of water in a dry land and the shade of a massive rock in an arid land. Then the eyes of those who see will not be closed, and the ears of those who hear will listen. The reckless mind will gain knowledge, and the stammering tongue will speak clearly and fluently. (Isaiah 32:1-4 HCSB)
When reading the verses, mentioned above, it almost looks impossible to connect the words reigning and righteously, as also the ruling and justly combination. With the words king and rulers, automatically comes the remembrance of tyranny (cruel and oppressive government or rule) and the suffering of the people under the yoke of the greedy, self centered man. Meeting the people, over and over who are hurt, abused, and therefor disappointed (too soft word) and left the places that were supposed to be a safe haven, a shelter in the wind and a refuse in the storms. When places are called by the name that should reflect safety and turned out to be the very place of pain, where can we run to when needed?
In this short moment as I connected with the brother this morning, again, pain came out because I was open to ask the right questions where the safety of our conversation could be a place of letting go! It seems that this is a time that all the ‘great’ man fall, all the pain is revealed and the cry is heard: Where can we go to?
And than, in the midst of it, you notice that God has prepared the people, the families, the brave ones that still stand and know that despite all, there is a truth, there is a calling, there is a need that can be met!
And yes, it are those churches that still stand and are a blessing to the city! And yes, it are those families that for some reason were called out of the system and started to be that safe haven for this time, and yes it are those New Environments God is preparing for the bigger Exodus that is going to happen.
So, INDEED, there is a KING that reigns in RIGHTEOUSNESS and there are the ‘rulers’ who and are ‘ruling’ justly!
And each will be like a shelter from the wind, a refuge from the rain, like streams of water in a dry land and the shade of a massive rock in an arid land.
What a great thing to know, that when everything (a lot) seems painful and disappointing, that the Father has prepared and continues to prepare the Storehouses of His blessings! It will be those who are not seen now, but will be the eyes of those who see and the ears of those who hear will listen. They will be the reckless minds that will gain knowledge, and the stammering tongue will speak clearly and fluently.
So, if you still want to ask me the question: Do you have hope?
Deuteronomy 28:12 The LORD will open the heavens, the STOREHOUSE of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.
