The Lie of the Vision(ary)

Today I have to try to unwire this chaos of thoughts I process about the way we (christians) walk our vision(s)! Maybe it even becomes a conversation where I draw you guys into the issue that I lately started to approach.

Due to a question (of one of my sons-in-law) to write down and bundle the prophetic words received over the years, I bumped into the piles of notebooks I have been filling the past many years. Words, thoughts, prophecies, visions, written down sometimes just a few words, a simple drawing or a bible verse. Dates, places, speakers, environments started to pass by and it draw me in a flow of memories. Hope, connections, disappointments, pain, arising in new hope…. all emotions that I could add to the long line of ‘speaking’ and imparting that happened through the hand of God.

Habakkuk 2 (HCSB)

Habakkuk Waits for God’s Response
1 I will stand at my guard post
and station myself on the lookout tower.
I will watch to see what He will say to me
and what I should reply about my complaint.

2 The Lord answered me:

Write down this vision;
clearly inscribe it on tablets
so one may easily read it.
3 For the vision is yet for the appointed time;
it testifies about the end and will not lie.
Though it delays, wait for it,
since it will certainly come and not be late.

In am labeled often as a visionary and I have meet the many, many visionaries. I have sat with them, shared the views, the moments of receiving and even shared the moments of blues, of waiting for the appointed time! We had those moments of recognition, where “you were the first one who understands” and with it, released the loneliness of the seers!

But…
But that is not where this blog is all about, although it was the ‘foreword’, the start-up of the post and it is always interesting to start-up with me, so we can synchronise in the process.
As I meet the visions over and over (meeting the visions is where people more or less became the vision) I mostly meet the lie of the promise!
Yes, though it delays, wait for it, since it will certainly come and not be late, one of the hardest things of the vision and its carriers is that over time they became those lonesome cowboys, thinking that the word in itself is the assurance of the outcome. It is mostly a conclusion of an Old Testament focussed christianity/mindset, where the word itself was beyond life. People easily forget that the OT was pathway to the redemption of mankind in order to become reconnected with God, with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In order to become the unique oneness of the body of Christ where there is no place for lonesome riders!

So what about the lie than?
Visions, Prophetic views, Perspective has everything to do with His Kingdom here on earth as it is in Heaven! The Oneness of God, “so they can be One as We are One” is the solution to the vision and the delay has everything to do with the lack of it!
As I meet the visions and their carriers over and over, the one hard thing for them to do is to connect and leave the vision up to Him, the giver and start to understand that the ‘fellowship’ brings forth! Fellowship with Him, fellowship with each other.

My heart cries when there is again another meeting, another connection and where I sense the need of recognition. The cry is about knowing that in a while, they will ‘leave’, back in the solitary! When we carry a truth outside the unity, outside the fellowship, in a way it is love outside the marriage, the covenant, meaning: Adultery! I know, harsh words but please let us address the delay so we can release the pause button. Let’s find ‘the sin’ we can confess so the release will come for those who are willing to run with the vision!

Prophetic Words
We have been with the churches carrying this library of prophetic words spoken over time and those prophecies became the banners of hope, that one moment the words become true. Painfully I know by now the lack of understanding that the Word of God, the Prophetic Impartation is always conditional and is always waiting for us to fulfil the conditions!

So what about the appointed time?
3 For the vision is yet for the appointed time;
it testifies about the end and will not lie.
Well, that is the hardest thing for us to understand! God’s timing! Meanly because we live in the limitation of time! We have a hard time to understand the words of Jesus, the was, the is and the is to come, the have been and still am…
But in the same time, we need to start getting insight in Time and in our influence on it.

since it will certainly come and not be late. And I smile (with still the tear on my face) reading the not be late as He just mentioned the though it delays!
