So, how about Yesterday

As there will always be a yesterday, we are not so sure that there will be a tomorrow!

But then what about yesterday, as we are so obviously being taught that looking back is a wrong thing to do. But reflecting yesterday from the perspective of approaching tomorrow is the wisest thing you can ever do.

What did Jesus then really mean when He said in Luke 9:62 “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” Isn’t the bible clear about the memory stones, the refocussing in order to get the right understanding of tomorrow? Joshua 4:6 Let this be a sign among you, so that when your children ask later, saying, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’ then you shall say to them…

Yes, God is all about tomorrow, but yet He is very serious about restoring the foundations of old (Isaiah 58:12).

So, how about your yesterday. What did it give, where did you took that wrong exit, what about those destined people you overlooked, those opportunities you missed.

And yes, there will always be a yesterday full of regrets, but when we observe, analyse, learn and continue, the yesterday will be the foundation of tomorrow! The bible also says never to let the sun goes down over your anger. Deal with it before the day closes and never ever drag the stuff into your tomorrow.

And then of course there is the issue of worrying! (Matthew 6:25 “This is why I tell you: Don’t worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothing?”) The delaying of taking your bad experience as the measure stick for tomorrow.

When the trouble of yesterday determine the course of tomorrow, we live yesterday and repeat it day after day, so there will never be a new and fresh tomorrow!

Kingdom is about tomorrow and it is necessary to live with a future perspective. You sow in order to reap. You plant today in order to see growth and result tomorrow. You raise the child to see it grow up and mature tomorrow. You edify the church so they can live their assignment of tomorrow.

Life is about preparing. Generational understanding is about a tomorrow perspective. Stealing the vision is therefor a cruel and destructive thing as you rob them from there destiny. When there is no vision, there is no tomorrow! The people perish and becomes depended of your vision, your tomorrow and thats where you kill the identity of a nation.

As we sat there yesterday in my little office and reviewed the process of the past few months, from the moment we met and went into the process of talking destiny and purpose, the statement he made about not being sure about my intentions was of course a bit confronting. But I realised it was driven by past experiences, past defined values and understandings.

We need to review the values of our yesterday (full of experiences that moulded our observation) when they became the blockage of releasing the destined tomorrows in our live.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. 34 Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
