The heart of a father

“My son, don’t forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commands;” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:1‬

Lord, remember my nation

Dear faithful prayer warriors,

As I used my time this morning, I was suddenly overwhelmed by the faithfulness that is showed in the schedule of our prayer altar at www.sverigebonen24-7.com
Wonderful constant names showing up on the most impossible hours with this one passion: “Lord, remember my nation!

Was reminded of the story that goes when many students at the Kortebo Missionary Bible School we’re walking that little lane from school to the lake, crying out and asking the Lord for the right timing, the right heart and the right nation to go to. Later, when I was attending a meeting with the testimony of a Brazilian missionary living in our nation, I was touched by what she shared about her motive to come. One night, as she was praying, God started to talk to her about going to Sweden. “Sweden?”, she surprised asked the Lord, “why Sweden and where is Sweden?” The Lord asked her to search the history of Christianity in her nation and to her surprise she found out that it was through the faithful sacrifice of Swedish missionaries that brought the gospel to her nation and even more special, it was her little village, that wasn’t even on the map that hosted the first missionary base in Brazil. Then the Lord told her that the one cry all those men and women were sending up was, with tears: “ Lord, remember my nation!” The Lord told her that He gathered the tears they were shedding in a large bucket and was preparing to pour this bucket out over the nation of Sweden to bless them for there willing sacrifices.

That story and the many more I’ve heard over the years about the impact of the sending calling of Sweden reminds me daily that, although the answer to many prayer might not fully to what we hope it will be, the Father is reminded and ready to bless our nation again and again. When He wants to express His gratitude because of the past, how wonderful will the result of His blessing be.

Keep that in mind when you approach the Throne and remind Him about what was and what will be. Call forth the destiny in the same way as we call forth the destiny of our young ones, our children and grandchildren.

Visiting this nation many many years as my grandchildren were born, before the Lord called us literally to embrace the nation and “marry the land” (Isaiah 62:5), I often was deeply impressed by meeting the young people of Sweden and the deep potential that they were carrying. But… too often I left by car or plane with a sorrowed heart noticing the lack of initiative, of a sleeping spirit and of fear. It was then and there that Father asked us to be a father to the fatherless and as I said, embrace the stunning potential of what was so hidden.

Living here now for 10 years, (and still struggling with the language) I am impressed by what is arising and about fearless people that dare to speak out and come forth.

I love this nation deeply and know it is the Father’s love that will help us to push through and NOT BE SILENT.

For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not be quiet, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a burning torch. The nations shall see your righteousness, and all the kings your glory, and you shall be called by a new name that the mouth of the Lord will give. You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. You shall no more be termed Forsaken, and your land shall no more be termed Desolate, but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her, and your land Married; for the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married. For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your sons marry you, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you. On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen; all the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the Lord in remembrance, take no rest, and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it a praise in the earth.” Isaiah 62:1-7 ESV

I know it talks about Jerusalem but meanly it reveals the Fathers heart for His chosen.

Can I gladly add that we live in the shadow of this amazing City called Jönköping with this missionary legacy, which earned the name Småland’s Jerusalem.
I hope it says it all.

Standing with you all, before the Throne of our amazing loving Father!
