You’re so lucky
You don’t ignore
You just don’t have a clue
Working with the guys
to get back to normal
Oh how I envy you
As your newspapers
Don’t inform
And your pastors
Echo ignorance
Oh I wish
I was this ignorant
As this will pass
And the temporary
Turns out
being the permanent
“Oh my god,”
You ask around
“How did this happen”
Then they sadly
Have to reveal
“While you
We’re Sleeping”
But then
There’s God
Ignoring your ignorance
Working
In the hidden
Preparing the unexpected
The seemly unneeded
Building the Manger
While they build the Cross

Salvation to be born
So ready to die
May ignorance
Not stop
The promise to come
May lack not withhold
Abundance
While vision departs
And wisdom is far
Thank god there is He
To step in
Oh remnant take courage
Hold on a little while
Don’t envy the ignorant
And answer the call
Be Gideon
Be Moses
Be Daniel
Be Him
Don’t stop to be silent
Don’t think you’re irrelevant
It’s the few
That answer the call
For the sake
of the many
As the One
came for us all!
“Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.
It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.”
Psalm 127:1-2 ESV
